When we see a positive result for gonorrhea we always reach for antibiotics. The PCR tests we use are sensitive and precise, so they give us a robust result
But as we’ve mentioned elsewhere in this blog SOME OF THESE INFECTIONS DISAPPEAR WITHOUT TREATMENT!
Another Dutch study has shown again that about 1 in every 6 gonorrhea infections just vanish on their own.
How is this possible? It is probably our own immunity that is kicking it out.
Don’t forget that gonorrhea is transmissible in any kind of sex (oral, vaginal or anal) and if it finds its way into an “orifice” like the throat, cervix or rectum it almost never produces any symptoms, so we don’t know we’re infected. Please get your self checked if you’ve been at risk and write to me for advice
