An important test in cervical cancer prevention

The overwhelming majority of women with HPV (human papilloavirus) with not have any longterm consequences because they will kick out of thier bodies the virus before any harm is done to the cervix. Even so, regular cervical PAP smear testing will prevent cases of cancer, and a direct HPV test like this one done regularly reduces cancer diagnoses even more.

  • Clinical guidelines recommend doing this test every 4 years in sexually active women to aid early diagnosis of cervical cancer
  • It is also considered revelant to do this test if you have changed sexual partner recently

Can I do this test now, should I wait, how precise is it? Where can I get tested, how long do results take, can I get some guidance from the doctor?
