Many men who use Viagra or other drugs in that group like Cialis or Levitra read the package insert with some trepidation if they have heart problems. But this study which reviewed data from some 70 thousand men in the USA who had had one of the following diagnoses – heart attack, bypass surgery, a stroke, heart failure or unstable angina (in other words, people with serious vascular problems) plus a diagnosis of erectile dysfunction. They compared those who had received Viagra or a similar medication to those who hadn’t to see what the risk was of having another vascular event (like another heart attack, for example). The results were extraordinary, because the use of these tablets actually REDUCES the risk of a serious vascular disease event in about 13%.

And there was more – men who had not yet had angina or heart attacks but were at risk because of cholesterol, diabetes, obesity etc. (cardiac risk factors) who had taken Viagra etc. ALSO HAD LESS risk of these cardiac/vascular events.

So, its seems that these concerns are not merited but further investigations definitely are. Do you have heart problems and would like to discuss the best treatment for erection problems? Please do get in touch with me.
