HIV is a disease that still imposes on the minds of many of my patients. PrEP (taking anti-HIV medication for prevention) is highly effective in preventing infections and thus helps to stop the circulation of the virus in the community, but where it impacts the most is in people who do anal sex without a condom regularly. I presented a study in a congress in which I saw that many of the people who buy PrEP in Spain are not necessarily people at risk, and they do not do much medical monitoring of this medication. If you do anal sex without a condom, you could be a candidate and we can talk about it in a consultation.
